Little Wonders is a wonderful learning center located right here in Missouri City. This is where talent, imagination and professional skills are being dedicated to the teaching of our young children. We understand that children learn differently. Through observation and listening, we encourage each individual's unique learning styles; while focusing on their physical, educational and emotional needs. All of our teachers are professionally qualified with combined expertise in education, speech & hearing therapy, bilingual education and English as a Second Language. With a low student-teacher ratio, we provide your child with the attention they need. Little Wonders Learning Center is located at the corner of Lexington Blvd. and Dulles Ave. In this center, you will find a number of warm, loving teachers committed to putting children first. This isn't your ordinary day care facility.

Alpha Omega Field Trip

On Monday, the summer school kids are taking a field trip to the Alpha Omega Gym. This is the same company that does gymnastics at our school on Thursdays. They just opened up a location around the corner from us. The coach suggested that some of the younger children attend the field trip! If you would like for your child to attend, please let us know by Wednesday. A permission slip should be filled out, and the cost is $8.00 (this includes lunch). If anyone is free to carpool, we would love to have your help!

SWISS CHEESE?????

Well, our older children wanted to have an Iron Chef Challenge, the secret ingredient was........ SWISS CHEESE!

Some children stepped up to the plate and judged the foods!

They tasted:

Bagels with tomato sauce and swiss cheese

Chicken tenders breaded in a fruit loop/bread crumb mixture, topped with swiss cheese and soy sauce

A milk shake made with milk, ice cream, cantelope, mango and SWISS CHEESE !

They wrote down their choices! And in the end Iron Chefs Nicole and Taryn won the Challenge!

On The Farm

Madison said she couldn't draw a cow, so all of her friends started helping her draw different animals. When we looked at all of the animals we made, Madison said we needed to put them in a farm. So.........we are making a big farm!

Reading - Magic Tree Project

To help our reading skills, we are incorporating reading words that pertain to our magic tree project. We put a list of words on the wall that the children need to write their sentences about the tree. The children find the words on the list that make up his/her sentence. For example.....One child's sentence reads "The magic tree makes rainbows". She found the word "the" and wrote it, then the word "magic" etc. The children are learning to look for words that have the letters that make the sounds in the words! This was a great exercise for them!

The Magic Tree

We have a magic tree growing in our class! We "found" it yesterday! The leaves are all different colors, and it does so many magical things........
The children sat around the tree and came up with their own ideas for what magic the tree could do. Here are some of the ideas.....
it grows candy canes
it gives all the animals without fur, fur!
it grows apples of all different colors
it takes water from the roots and the trunk changes colors
if a polar bear comes next to it, it sprinkles red color down, red & white make pink, so the polar bear turns pink!
We are all drawing pictures to represent our ideas, and we will paint them and have them up soon for you all to admire ;0)

It's is Raining in the Forest!

If you take a look in the hallway you will see a tropical rain forest! After we learned that desserts don't have very many trees, we wanted to make a forest. Each child made his/her very own tree, however they wanted, and put it in our forest! Madison made two clouds pouring out rain for the forest. It turned out to be a masterpiece! Even our friends from next door helped us out!

don't forget little wonders will be closed this friday july 3rd for independence day!!! have a happy 4th of july.
