Little Wonders is a wonderful learning center located right here in Missouri City. This is where talent, imagination and professional skills are being dedicated to the teaching of our young children. We understand that children learn differently. Through observation and listening, we encourage each individual's unique learning styles; while focusing on their physical, educational and emotional needs. All of our teachers are professionally qualified with combined expertise in education, speech & hearing therapy, bilingual education and English as a Second Language. With a low student-teacher ratio, we provide your child with the attention they need. Little Wonders Learning Center is located at the corner of Lexington Blvd. and Dulles Ave. In this center, you will find a number of warm, loving teachers committed to putting children first. This isn't your ordinary day care facility.

The Study of Superheroes

This is a very serious meeting that took place, to determine "how spider man shoots his webs and what the webs look like." ;0)
Yes!  We are twisting our love for superheroes into a project!  It has taken several discussions between the teachers, art director, and the students to come up with the perfect plan for our  Spider Man Spider Web!The first thing we did was spell "spider", "spider web", and type in "how do spiders spin their webs" into our class computer.  We watched the spiders spin their webs, and studied pictures of the webs.  After we were sure we knew what the webs looked like, we drew a picture of what we wanted our web to look like.
We all contributed to the picture and we all helped each other sound out and spell the word.......Next, we took our plan to the art studio and talked to Ms. Marjon about our plan.
She let the children roam the studio to look at the materials available to them, and they picked the WIRE!
She asked how many rings were in the web and it took us about an hour to decide!  Everyone said a different number.  We heard 3, 2, 7, and 4.  We took a vote, and in the end we all agreed on 3!
So now we had to determine how the rest of the web would look...............
This is what Mateo thought.........
Kiersten told him that the lines shouldn't go on the outside, "Yours looks like the Sun!", she said.  "Spider webs have the lines on the inside like this......."
Ms. Marjon took the blue print and created the giant "Spider Man Spider Web"...........
We all got to work putting our fine motor skills to work and started weaving our spider web........
Look at how tight some of our work is..

The spider web is well along its way, and we will continue to work on it a little every day until we are satisfied with our product!

  1. Now I "get" it! Okay, okay! I didn't really understand the large "sculpture" for awhile. It seemed also like a dreamcatcher too...
