Little Wonders is a wonderful learning center located right here in Missouri City. This is where talent, imagination and professional skills are being dedicated to the teaching of our young children. We understand that children learn differently. Through observation and listening, we encourage each individual's unique learning styles; while focusing on their physical, educational and emotional needs. All of our teachers are professionally qualified with combined expertise in education, speech & hearing therapy, bilingual education and English as a Second Language. With a low student-teacher ratio, we provide your child with the attention they need. Little Wonders Learning Center is located at the corner of Lexington Blvd. and Dulles Ave. In this center, you will find a number of warm, loving teachers committed to putting children first. This isn't your ordinary day care facility.

Castles, Hidden Treasures & More!

The students have been creating castles in MANY different ways! They have created many different castles out of cardboard, Styrofoam, tiles, blocks and etc.

As Noah walked around the room he found a tissue roll and some circular cardboard rolls. The first thing he wanted to do was paint the pieces before putting them together. He even had one of his friends help him!

He moved onto his second piece of cardboard, he dipped his hand in the cup of paint, put it all over his arms, cup and table...
As time went on, he kept dipping his hands in the cup of paint, after rubbing the paint all over his hands he used his hands to paint the circular cardboard because he said, "it will be faster"! Instead of stopping him, we let him continue to do it that way because this was the painting approach he wanted to take to get his work done! :-)

The girls were hard at work trying to paint these pieces of art , just the way the wanted to using all the colors they had in mind...

The students have found many different ways to use the materials in the block area to their advantage! Not only do they use each piece of material for a different thing, they have came up with best stories to go with it!

Each block child was laying down in a box, covered with a piece of fabric! ;-)

I asked the children to tell me about their work and how they set it up:
  • " Everyone is sleeping because it is nap time."
  •  "They are only sleeping for 10 minutes!"

  • " The frog was trying to wake everyone up but they didn't get up, so he went to rest too."

  • " These are presents and treasure is underneath. The presents are sleeping too because the kids are still sleeping. "

The children placed a tile piece under the black triangle to be used as, "treasure"
We practiced counting numbers 1-40 as we counted each tile.
They also created signs, so they could save their great work they created!

We are excited to see what becomes of all these ideas!
