From there, we started looking at different skeletons of animals in books. Ashley made this monkey skeleton.........
Kiersten made the skeleton of a lion. As we worked on this skeleton, we did a study of different cats. The children did not think that lions and tigers were cats, so we looked at books to show us all of the types of cats. We read about them, wrote words about them, and talked about their habitats and similarities.
Next the children wanted to make bat skeletons. Ella and Kiersten made these skeletons. We are now learning about flying animals. It has turned us in the direction of learning about birds. We have drawn bird skeletons, made a tree with a bird's nest in the class, and made beautiful paintings of peacocks and parrots!
