Little Wonders is a wonderful learning center located right here in Missouri City. This is where talent, imagination and professional skills are being dedicated to the teaching of our young children. We understand that children learn differently. Through observation and listening, we encourage each individual's unique learning styles; while focusing on their physical, educational and emotional needs. All of our teachers are professionally qualified with combined expertise in education, speech & hearing therapy, bilingual education and English as a Second Language. With a low student-teacher ratio, we provide your child with the attention they need. Little Wonders Learning Center is located at the corner of Lexington Blvd. and Dulles Ave. In this center, you will find a number of warm, loving teachers committed to putting children first. This isn't your ordinary day care facility.

From skeletons to bats to birds!

You have probably seen our skeleton project by now, but look at where we have gone since then!
We made the bat skeletons and started talking about animals that fly. We drew bird skeletons and now we are learning about which birds fly and which birds do not.
Annika and Ashley wanted to make peacocks! We found beautiful pictures of them in a book. At first we thought peacocks couldn't fly, but it turns out that they can! We made these beautiful art pieces, and we practiced spelling and writing the word 'PEACOCK'

As we sat and thought about what birds do not fly, Dimi remembered that penguins do not fly! We found them in our bird book......
Annika and Kiersten made paintings of their favorite penguins...........

Kaelynn found a beautiful red bird with black spots. The children all said that that bird flew, so Kaelynn wanted to make a painting of it.........

We found more birds like it in our bird book, and it turns out that they are called PARROTS!

Ashley made a painting of her favorite parrot, and then practiced spelling and writing 'BIRD'....
She also made a parrot out of play dough...........................

Dimi's favorite bird was the bald eagle! He loves this picture and he told the class how the bald eagle "flies down to catch it's food, but he doesn't swim, because he will drown if he gets in the water!"

He made this painting............................

But best of all, Tayden and Carter brought in a bird's nest, and we made a tree for it and turned it into a bald eagle nest.
Look at the bald eagle sitting in the nest with her eggs!

Stay tuned to find out where we go next with this project!
