Little Wonders is a wonderful learning center located right here in Missouri City. This is where talent, imagination and professional skills are being dedicated to the teaching of our young children. We understand that children learn differently. Through observation and listening, we encourage each individual's unique learning styles; while focusing on their physical, educational and emotional needs. All of our teachers are professionally qualified with combined expertise in education, speech & hearing therapy, bilingual education and English as a Second Language. With a low student-teacher ratio, we provide your child with the attention they need. Little Wonders Learning Center is located at the corner of Lexington Blvd. and Dulles Ave. In this center, you will find a number of warm, loving teachers committed to putting children first. This isn't your ordinary day care facility.

What's In a Name???

We are having so much fun with our "Name" project!  Take a look at some of our "homework" below!  We started talking about our own names and why our mom's and dad's picked our names.  This was a great opportunity to do part of our project with our parents!  We took a piece of paper home and we spelled our names with our parents and made our own art piece with it!  Our parents shared stories of how we got our names and every day we are reading our names and sharing the stories with each other!  Friday we will all sit together and talk more about our name stories and share how we spell our names!
We started talking about names and the name of our school, and we wanted to name our room! We thought of different names for about a week, and then the day came where it was time to vote! We voted for the final four - The Project Room, The Wonderland Room, The Star Room, and The World Room.  It was close, but The Wonderland Room was the winner!!!!!!!  We love it!  It took some of the "Star Voters" time to adjust to the name, but now that some time has passed, we are all happy with it!

We each wrote our name next to the name we wanted to vote for........
When we found the winner, we all helped hang up the "results".
As we continued talking about our names, how to spell them and how to write them, we started talking about capital and lower case letters.  At this point in our project, we are starting to understand that when you are spelling a name, only the first letter is capitalized.  We rolled out a llllllooooonnnnngggggg alphabet to help us see all of the upper and lower case letters.
All of the children took turns writing the letters, we had fun walking on the alphabet and jumping on the different letters.
We took out the clay and we started making our own alphabet of upper and lowercase letters......
Awesome, aren't they????
We are also making our own paint colors now, so we can give them our own names!  We only have red, blue, yellow, white and black paint in our room!  It is our responsibility to make a color if we need one ;0)  Today Ashley and Kaelynn wanted to paint.  They wanted pink, purple, green and orange.  The girls got to work and they made beautiful shades of the colors.  Ashley made a chart to show the colors she made.  When we asked her the names of the colors, she was smart enough to grab the markers to help her spell them!  She found similar colors, looked at the names, and wrote them for herself ;0)
This color is Ms. Ambreen's favorite color!  It was named after her!!!!  "Ambreen Green"!
Some of the children are also working on the sign for our room!  Now that it has a name, we need a sign :0)
Stay tuned for more updates on the personalization of the Wonderland Room!
